Today is a dress down day! Pay $1.00 to your first period teacher if you choose to participate. Please remember: NO HOLES/NO HOODIES AND NO SWEATPANTS OF ANY KIND! 

 

Students,

For the remainder of the school year, the cosmetology lab will no longer be providing services to students during the school day. If you are a student and you’d like to have some services completed, please schedule an appointment after school.

 

 

At dismissal time, no student should be standing in the hallway or by an exterior door waiting to leave before 2:05 PM. All students should remain in their classroom until they are released by the appropriate bell. Students who are in the hallway before 2:05 PM will have their names written down and could be faced with a write up for being out of their assigned area. Please stay in your classroom until dismissed.

Students must be in uniform every day. IF you need to borrow a uniform you must do so before the end of first period.    Students borrowing a uniform after first period

will receive a detention.   

 

 

Students must report to the cafeteria during their designated lunch times. No student is allowed to leave the lunch room without a pass from a teacher or administrative approval. Students are not permitted to hang out in the Student Lounge, break out rooms, or conference rooms during their lunch times

 

 

Veterinary Science is hosting doggie day care! Pay $10 for your dog to come to our lab and play with other dogs brought in by your friends and fellow students. For more information on requirements and how to sign up, take a brochure off the Veterinary Science door or contact Dr. Rickabaugh. 

 

 

 

If you need to take a medication at GCCC, you are required to have a prescription from your doctor AND provide the school nurse with the medication. This includes Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Benadryl, etc. GCCC does not provide students with any medications. This may be different from your home school so check in with the school nurse if you have any questions or you need the form!

Beavercreek Students: 

 

Spring Esports Teams are now forming! We are looking for a few more qualified players and subs for the following games: Apex, Fortnite, Overwatch2, League of Legends and Valorant. If interested see Mrs. Stamper in 2055 or Mrs. Kovar in 2056, stop by the esports room in the IMC after school, or scan the QR code in the commons and fill out the informational form! Thank you 

 

Do you play an instrument, sing, write songs, or want to learn how to run sound for a studio and produce music for a record label? Musicians Connect is a place where vocalists, songwriters, instrumentalists, and producers can collaborate on original music. Come and jam with other musicians on Mondays from 3:00 to 4:30 in room 2032.

 

 

The Christians in Action- Meetings will be on Mondays in Room 2027 immediately after school. See Ms. Creech if you have questions.

Bellbrook seniors please check the diploma name list in the guidance office to confirm that your name will be printed correctly on your high school diploma.

Cedarville: 

PEP RALLY – Molly Mossing has been named “Penn Station Athlete of the Month!” There will be a pep rally Monday, February 26th. The theme is BLACK OUT! Penn Station and WDTN will be here to present Molly the award. If we have the best pep rally our school will be awarded a check. Please wear black and come ready to be loud and celebrate Molly! Pep rally starts a 2:30. 

TICKETS ON SALE – Tickets for “The Little Mermaid” evening performances are now on sale on the school website. Matinee tickets will go on sale next week.

SENIOR SCHOLARSHIPS – Baldwin/Turner Volunteer Scholarship deadline is March 1, 2024; The Jamestown Masonic Lodge Scholarship is due Friday, March 1, 2024; Youth Leadership Scholarship deadline is March 1, 2024 by 4:00pm; The Cedar Cliff PTO Red Scholarship and White Scholarship application is available. Applications are due no later than 3:00p.m. March 6, 2024. No late submissions past this date & time will be accepted; The Varsity “C” Blanket application has been sent to your email. The deadline is April 1, 2024; The Becky Walker Scholarship deadline is April 1, 2024.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS – The musical is looking for back stage crew and lights/spotlights operators. Please see Miss Rising. 

TENNIS – High school students interested in playing tennis this spring, sign up in the office. Practice starts March 4th 7:00-9:00pm.

 

TRACK – High School track begins Wednesday, March 6th at 5:30pm. Get information and sign up in the high school office.

Fairborn Students: 

The Technology Student Association is getting ready for competition! If you are interested in Architecture, Podcasting, Board Game Design, Children's Stories, Coding, Computer Modeling, Video Production, Engineering Design, Extemporaneous Speech, Flight, Manufacturing, Music Production, Prepared Presentation, Structural Design, Systems Control, or Technical Problem Solving, come see Ms. Sauder in Room 316 or come to TSA Thursdays from 2:00 to 3:00 pm in Room 316! 

 

The Gender and Sexuality Alliance meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month in Room 316- it's not too late to join! Come join us to learn, discuss, and have fun. Next meeting is Tuesday, February 6. 

 

Fairborn High School has a new club - Christians in Action. We invite you and welcome you to join us for games, snacks, fellowship, and most importantly Jesus! We meet every Tuesday in the Senior Dining Hall from 2:45 to 3:30.

Did you know you could buy a concession stand card? What is this you ask? This is a card onto which you can load money and use at any school function where the concession stand is open. You can reload money onto this card at any time. These can be bought from the Skyhawk Athletic Booster Club. 

The New FHS Sports Complex will be equipped with 2 Daktronics Video Displays (one inside and one outside), and we need students to run them during sporting events. If you will be at the high school next year, are interested in learning how to run this equipment, and are willing to attend the sporting events to put on amazing visual displays for our Skyhawk fans, you just might find yourself watching the games from the best seat in the house! Greeneview Students: 

The high school is having an assembly on Friday, February 23rd. The afternoon GCCC bus will pick up students at 1:50pm so they can attend the assembly. This will be the only bus that will pick up in the afternoon.

The rescheduled date for Student Council’s dance, the Spring Fling, is Friday, March 8th from 8-10pm at the high school. This is a formal dance. Dance Contracts are available in the front office. If you have a dance contract from Homecoming you do not need to complete a new form, but any guests attending the dance must have a new guest contract completed.

Any girls interested in playing softball this spring- Tryouts will be February 19th through the 21st. Times will be posted in the near future.

 

All Seniors! Including GCCC and CCP: Greeneview uses NAVIANCE to assist with all of your college and career search needs, including transcript requests. If you need to request a transcript for a college, you will need to use your NAVIANCE account. All students have a NAVIANCE account. Please check your Greeneview email for information on how to log-in and use the program and how it works with Common App.

Xenia Students: 

 

If you need a sports physical for spring sports please contact your medical provider or Dayton Children's Health and Wellness Center at Warner Middle School. Transportation can be provided to your appointment from the high school. Don't delay. Stop by the main office or clinic for contact information to make your appointment today. 

 

 

Come join the team and learn about what it takes to be part of the cheer program. Clinics will be held March 18–20 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. Tryouts will be held March 21 @ 4pm at Benner Field House.

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you are interested in playing baseball this spring, please make sure you have updated your Final Forms to include baseball as a selected sport so you are receiving timely announcements. Contact Coach Salyers for further details or ask a member of the baseball team. 

 

The Renaissance form is now available for students to complete. If you have good grades then don't miss out on this opportunity. Sign up must be completed this week! That is all...

Yellow Springs Students: 

Are you a poet? Do you want to enter a poetry contest? Sinclair Community College is hosting the Paul Lawrence Dunbar Poetry contest. Paul Laurence Dunbar was an American poet, novelist, and short story writer of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in Dayton, Ohio, to parents who had been enslaved in Kentucky before the American Civil War, Dunbar began writing stories and verse when he was a child. The goal of the contest is to get more students to share their poetry. If you are interested, get a flyer for the contest from the school library or Mr. H. 

 

SPIDEE meetings will be taking place at the YS Senior Center this year. We will meet on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 3:45-5pm. This year SPIDEE will focus on community change through a meaningful community based project centered around diversity, equity, and inclusion. Light refreshments will be provided during the meeting.

 

 

Are you interested in playing Super Smash Brothers on our school's esports team. Come to the library for more information. We have a Middle school and High school team.
